Renewable Energy

Our renewable energy investments and greenhouse gas reduction data aimed at lowering our carbon footprint.

Carbon (CO₂) Footprint

The carbon (CO₂) footprint of the hotels within Royal Group Hotels is calculated annually.

Through new investments made to cover the electricity consumed at the hotels, we aim to reduce the facilities' greenhouse gas emissions and, with the surplus electricity produced, to help lower the carbon footprint of other consumers.

156.000 MWh

Annual renewable energy produced at the plants (equivalent to the electricity consumed by about 50,000 people).

100.000+ tCO₂

Greenhouse gas reduction achieved per year.

~250.000

Number of trees equivalent to the reduction achieved (carbon dioxide captured).

With 3 renewable energy plants, we produce more than 20 times our own electricity consumption in renewable energy and achieve a greenhouse gas reduction of more than 100,000 tons per year.
